Baccalaureate Service for Moore Institute Graduates

Junior Senior Costume Party At Legion Hall

Juniors and Seniors held a costume party at the Legion Hall with Queen Anns Lace decorations. After fourteen Hodge Podge games, refreshments were served and trophies awarded for high scores to Charlie Luksovsky Martha Pelech Larry Faltisek and Henrietta Butschek. Consolation trophies went to Arnold Papacek and Joyce Kopeky. Dancing and Muda followed with chaperons Lydia Koester and Anita Richter.

Yoakum Chamber Leader Paulus Visits Moulton

Attorney Henry S. Paulus of Yoakum, newly elected president of the Yoakum Chamber of Commerce, traveled to Moulton Thursday on professional business and pledged active leadership. Mrs. T. T. Walker of San Saba and Miss Alice Arnim of Houston visited the Ed. Q. Arnim home.

Memorial Services Held Here Sunday

Memorial services were held at the Moulton Public Cemetery on Sunday May 26 under Geier Merrem Post 392 American Legion. A large crowd attended the ceremonies with participants from the American Legion Moulton Volunteer Fire Department and the Legion Band. Olin Culberson of Edna gave the memorial address, praised as engaging by the audience.

Texas Synod Chooses Shiner for Next Convention

The United Lutheran Churches of the United States picked Shiner as the convention city during the Houston annual gathering last week. Rev. Senate Sustains Bonus Veto Overridden by House

President Franklin D Roosevelt vetoed the Patman bonus bill. The Senate sustained the veto 54 to 40 and the House failed to override 322 to 98. It marked the first joint session veto message delivery. Senator Morris Sheppard supported override while Tom Connally voted to sustain. Representative J. J. Mansfield backed override.
