Killough Jr said it fits central and south Texas where 25 inches of rainfall or more occur, aids shoreline erosion control, and establishes easier on earthen dams. The variety originated from a Frio River plant found in 1964 and aims to supply 450 to 900 acres per 900 pounds of foundation seed planted in spring 1978.
The U S Postal Service Board of Governors approved a rise from 13 to 15 cents for first class letters effective May 29, with parallel increases for parcel post and postcards.
