Robinson blasted a go ahead two run homer in the seventh and scored on a ninth inning swipe as Moulton beat Waelder 8 to 7 on Waelder diamond. Schodde relieved in the ninth striking out two as Robinson tallied. Graduation plans unfold with baccalaureate May 18 and commencement May 22 led by Rev Braulick and Senator Gus Russek.

W. L. Edwards Buried in City Cemetery
William L. Edwards 82 died at his daughter Mrs C E Snell’s home in San Antonio Wednesday morning. His remains were brought to Flatonia for burial Thursday morning in the City Cemetery with Rev. O O Moore officiating. His wife died last year.

Moulton Aids Storm Sufferers through Local Effort
Moulton via the Chamber of Commerce sent 158 dollars to the Runge Chamber of Commerce for storm victims at Runge and Nordheim. Listed contributors include Sons of Hermann Lodge, Lutheran Ladies Aid, A M and other local groups and individuals with amounts ranging from two to six dollars. Also noted are visits by local residents to San Antonio and a re-election for a Evergreen school assistant teacher at Henkhaus.

Poppy Day Observed in Moulton Memorial Poppy Sale
On Saturday May 24 the American Legion asks residents of Moulton to buy a memorial poppy on street corners. Poppies fund patient care at the Legion Hospital where disabled tuberculosis patients work without government pay. Poppies are sterilized and safe to wear. proceeds help families during hospital stays.

St Josephs Church held Holy Communion with the American Legion Band music. Chovanetz of Shiner visited Moulton and announced his bid for Lavaca county superintendent. Heavy Rain Floods Hit Town Bridges Washed Away
A very heavy rain on Monday morning dumped five inches or more, sending the La Vaca river and tributaries over banks. The wooden bridge at Bowe's, the iron bridge at Kaiser's, and a railroad bridge south of town were damaged or washed away, interrupting rail service. Roads, fields, and fences were destroyed, and C. B. Moeller lost a slaughter house and poultry. The southeastern negro section flooded forcing residents to seek higher ground.

T N Powell Dies in Houston After Surgery
T N Powell former superintendent of Moulton Public Schools died in Houston after surgical operation. He was 57 and buried at Oak Hill cemetery in Smithville. Survived by his widow and many relatives. Powell previously served as Bastrop County superintendent.

Dr Victor Strauss dies after brief illness in Rosenberg
Dr Victor Charles Strauss of East Bernard died at a Rosenberg hospital on May 1 after a brief illness. He was born in Shiner and burial was held May 3 in Hallettsville Catholic cemetery. Survived by his wife and one child, his parents, three brothers, three sisters, and his aged grandmother.
