Lavaca County Tick Eradication Milestone Report
Lavaca County inspectors dipped and inspected 61 774 cattle in April with no ticks found. Twenty additional herds finished eradication and were released from dipping, 25 remain under the 14 day treatment. Since April 1 1927 the county set an unmatched tick eradication record. Nearly 1 900 infested cattle have been cleared except 25. Owners urged to dip cattle in May as final inspection nears June 1 will excuse tick free cattle from further dipping. The county thanks residents for cooperation.
