Restricted Feeding Plan Outlined For Poultry Savings
Dr. O B Kent of Chicago proposes a restricted feeding plan to cut pullet feed costs by about half. Pullets would eat roughly 20 pounds instead of 34, with five days of moderate feeding and two lean days. Kent claims the method could save up to 440 million dollars annually and raise egg production by about 1 percent per year.

Father and Son Team Set Production Record on Illinois Farm
A northeastern Illinois dairy farm run by a father and son produced 383000 pounds of milk last year, enough to supply a pint daily for 1050 people. They milked 35 Holsteins on 225 acres and also yielded 192 tons of milk, 17800 pounds of pork, and multiple crops. Their success rested on high yields, cheap roughage, low-cost production of milk and hogs, strict sanitation, balanced rations, and precise farm records.
