Large Lutheran catechumen class confirmed with 15 girls 16 boys
A large audience witnessed the examination of the catechumen class at the Lutheran church. The class of fifteen girls and sixteen boys was the largest in the church history. Friend Simpson Dead at 75 in Hallettsville
The dies at his Hallettsville home Saturday. Native of Virginia, he settled in Texas, served in the Confederate Army, practiced law since 1877, served in the Texas Senate 1894 to 1897, and was on Lavaca County Draft Board during World War I. He headed a local banking firm and leaves a wife and four children.
