Interscholastic League Meet at Shiner and Lavaca County results
The Lavaca county interscholastic league meet at Shiner highlighted Moulton winners in events led by Fisbeck in the 100 yard dash and Ward in the 440 yard relay. Mrs. R. J. Strauss nee Emma Schmidt of Shiner died at the local hospital Sunday morning aged 56. Funeral from the family home followed by Catholic services and burial in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Born Eagle Pass July 21, 1880 she married R J Strauss at Hallettsville Sept 23, 1908 and lived in Shiner about 24 years. Survived by husband, son Richard J. Strauss, and brothers Joe Schmidt Flatonia and Fritz Schmidt Brownsville.
