Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Alcohol and Makings
Joe Sitka of Hallettaville admitted making 66 bottles of beer for his wife and pled guilty to possessing intoxicating liquor and apparatus. Federal Judge Hutcheson warned of jail if he reappeared, and fined Sitka $800. Houston Chronicle reports March 7.

Mrs Joe Sandera Dies at 59 in Flatonia
Mrs Joe Sandera died at Flatonia Friday February 6 at age 59. Burial followed Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia with Rev Kostorz officiating. She is survived by her husband and several children.

Prohibition Officers Seize Stills and Arrest Suspects
Keller Hines of Houston aided by Henry F. L. Mueller of Moulton captured two stills and arrested Frank Cervenka of Moravia and Jim Ermis of Shiner with 50 gallons of mash. Deputy Sheriff B. H. Cordes and Mueller arrested Joe Peter of Moravia for violation of prohibition laws and he vanished from the local jail after a morning break, later said to have gone to Houston to face Federal authorities.

Play Postponed at Nickel School Because of Mumps
The play scheduled for Friday, March 13 at the Nickel School is postponed to Friday, March 27 due to mumps.
