GVEC Ends LCRA Sale Contract Amid Fuel Charge Shift
GVEC chief notes LCRA termination of the 1962 sale contract, with rate increases in 1965 and 1972 absorbed by the cooperative. GVEC will not raise member rates now, but the Fuel Adjustment Charge from LCRA will be passed to members via GVEC bills. The charge reflects higher generating costs due to gas curtailment and reliance on fuel oil.
