J F Hruska Buried Here in Local Rites

J F Hruska died at his San Antonio home Wednesday night June 18 after a brief illness. Funeral held Saturday June 21 at the Jaluska home with burial in Moulton Public Cemetery. Rev. Falkenberg officiated. He leaves his wife Julia and four children, plus a large extended family and friends from Fayetteville, Moulton, and surrounding areas.

Legion Band plans open air summer concerts

The American Legion Band of Moulton announces a series of open air concerts this summer with a July kickoff. Tickets are sold in advance to fund future performances. They will visit Legion Texas near Kerrville for a concert at Legion Hospital and have arranged a Fourth of July engagement at Rockdale for the third year running.

School Benefit Picnic at Baursville

A large crowd attended the Baursville school benefit picnic last Sunday with barbecue lunch and supper. Richard Waltersdorf acted as master of ceremonies. The Baursville School Orchestra and Happy Boys' Orchestra provided music for the day and dance. Receipts totaled 240.41 dollars. Patrons thank all who attended and helped make the affair a success.

Frank Adamcik Jr a prominent Smithville resident died at LaGrange hospital after a brief illness. Burial was in Rover cemetery near Smithville. He was 51 and survived by his wife and seven children.
