The Moulton Babe Ruth team defeated Yoakum 10-2 in Yoakum Monday night. Moulton scored six runs in the third and four in the fourth, while Yoakum added one in the fourth. Pesek and Darilek hit two-base hits, Rudy Simper Jr. allowed only three hits for Moulton, and Heersen took the loss for Yoakum.

Escapes Injury In Car Truck Mishap Near Navidad River

Mr. Marvin Merrem and his daughter Renee escaped serious injury when their 1957 Chevrolet was rear ended by a big transport truck near the Navidad River bridge between Schulenburg and Weimar on June 6 around 5:00 PM. Renee suffered only minor scratches and was treated at Weimar’s Youens Hospital before release. Marvin continued to Moulton for Lions Club duties.
