The Texas Commercial Secretaries and Business Men's Association reports wealth in Texas increased by about 49,643,000 during May. Agricultural production led with 19,143,000, mineral 1,310,000, factory 12,090,000, and foreign production 17,100,000. Livestock sales rose 696,000 from April to 11,603,000 for May.

Robt Nixon a prominent Gonzales lawyer died at his home after a lingering illness. He was 40 and survived by two sons aged 8 and 3. his wife died about a year ago. Nixon founded the town of Nixon on the Gulf Shore railway.
