A large crowd attended a Memorial service at Moulton Public Cemetery on Sunday under Geier-Merrem Post No 392 American Legion. The program included readings, musical pieces, piano accompaniments, and brief address by Gus J. Strauss of Hallettsville. The Moulton Volunteer Fire Department attended in full.

Yoakum hosts the annual Tom Tom celebration attracting large crowds over two days. Miss Lorena Ruth Smith of Moulton attended as duchess with escort Arnold Papacek. Moulton High School Band paraded and the Old Trail Drivers marker was unveiled. Tomato crops in Yoakum were damaged by recent rains, but the event was a grand success.

Bill Wagner Dies At Yoakum
Bill Wagner formerly of Moulton died in Yoakum on June 4 after a lingering illness at age 69 years 7 months and 9 days. Funeral held at his son in law’s home with Rev McDaniels of Flatonia officiating. Burial at Moulton Public Cemetery. He is survived by brothers Joe C. Wagner and Charles Wagner and sister Mrs Minnie Hirscher. The Eagle extends sympathy.
