Duck Diving Study Sparks Taxpayer Debate in Moulton
The Moulton Eagle reports a $3,100 grant from the National Science Foundation to Dr. Alan J. Kohn of the University of Washington. His student John Landahl will study whether ducks that eat mussels affect bottom-dwelling animal life, including a trip to the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. A NSF spokesman defends the project as advancing understanding of avian predation effects on marine communities.
