U Boats Toll Raised to Eleven In Atlantic Losses
The North Atlantic raid sinks ships including the liner Carolina and schooner Samuel H Hathaway. total vessels lost reaches eleven with sixteen missing from Carolina crew and from Hathaway. City of Columbus reaches port safely. Charles Warren Fairbanks, former vice president, is dead.
