DeWitt and Jackson counties doctors meet in Yoakum to raise charges citing higher living costs. Leading physicians from Cuero Yorktown Meyersville Hallettsville Shiner Moulton Sublime and Yoakum endorse the minimum fee schedule effective July 15 including in town day calls 2 dollars night 4 dollars country 2.50 plus mileage 1.00 per mile day 1.50 per mile night Obstetrics 25 dollars and mileage for simple cases prescriptions visits and analyses with various fixed fees and an emphasis that higher charges apply for grave responsibilities and complicated cases.
