Home Demonstration Camp in Shiner a Success

The annual Home Demonstration Camp in Shiner drew 77 club members and 24 visitors from Lavaca County. Bunjes club led with the most members, Sweet Home was second, Wenzel Pilot Grove third, and Mrs. E. R. Nolan traveled the farthest to attend.

Lavaca County Bridge Repair Bond Approved

Attorney General William McCraw approved a Lavaca County bridge repair bond for 1814.49 toward fixing the Lavaca River Bridge on the Witting Komensky road. The single bond bears 3 12 percent interest, matures April 15, 1958, and was authorized by the commissioners court on June 13, 1938 based on a 15 cent per 100 tax from a 12,920,090 valuation.
