County Official Hurt By Blast On County Road
County Commissioner Emil Zoch of Precinct 2 suffered a serious injury when a dynamite blast on a Walhalla area road exploded as he ignited the fuse. He was thrown about 10 feet, with a broken arm and head and body injuries, rushed to La Grange hospital conscious but in serious condition. Zoch resides in Winchester.

Louis Hillje Dies at 70 in San Antonio
Louis Hillje aged 70 died at his home in San Antonio Friday afternoon. The body was sent to Weimar for interment on Saturday. He is survived by his widow and one son. He once lived at High Hill in Fayette County where his father and others ran Texas’s first cotton oil mill in 1868.
