Konstant Rehmet a former Moulton resident died in San Antonio on July 6 after a lingering throat tuberculosis. His body was brought to Moulton for a Tuesday funeral at 9 30 from the Jaeggli home with interment in the Catholic cemetery. He leaves a wife seven children and two brothers. one son died in 1899. He was born September 9 1877 in Schmitsch Silesia and came to Texas in 1889 moving to Moulton then Taylor and San Antonio.
The 42 Club was entertained by hostess Mrs. Oscar Dari lek on a Wednesday afternoon. Eight games ended with Mrs. Elo Fehren kamp earning high score and a linen table cloth, and Mrs. Ed. Biehunke taking second high score with lingerie. Refreshments included cheese sandwiches molded cabbage salad crackers pickles ice tea cake and ice cream.
The American Legion Band of Moulton provided music for Rockdale Fourth of July celebrations sponsored by Rockdale American Legion Post. It was the third year the band played there, with parade floats, buckle and horse races, a baseball game, a band concert, and a night dance. Judge Henderson of Cameron spoke for Ross Sterling in the Democratic governor race. The band praises Rockdale hospitality and looks forward to returning.
Walter Paul of Shiner was visiting in Moulton on Friday and Saturday. Miss Grace Delaney of Seguin is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bergfeld.
Miss Grace Preston of Houston arrived Saturday evening to visit her father, R. Preston.
Mr and Mrs George Bargmann and daughter of Gonzales visited relatives in Moulton on Sunday.
Edwin Richter and Edward Darilek went back to San Marcos on Monday to continue their college studies and resume classes.
Mr John M Meiners and family and Mrs John Gajer traveled through Runnels and Coke counties and visited San Antonio during their recent trip.
Mr W T Krueger and wife and daughter Elva from Houston spent last weekend in Moulton with Victor Fehrenkamp and family. Mr Krueger is brother to Mrs Fehrenkamp.
Supporters of R S Sterling are active and indicate Lavaca county will back Sterling this year. Lavaca has long leaned Ferguson but voters show a change of heart and will choose a new leader. Sterling rapidly gains in communities across the county.
Mrs W F Boemer of Berclair is visiting at the home of Rev A H Falkenberg and his wife. The note records a social call in the community.
Mrs Adolph Hofner and her children from San Antonio visited relatives and friends last week.
Mr. Charles Mladenka and his wife and children are spending the week with his parents Mr and Mrs John Mladenka in Houston.
Clarence Knape Mabel Knape and Winnie Knape spent Saturday evening visiting Mr and Mrs Leon Schoenig in LaGrange confirming social ties between local families.
Mr and Mrs Rud John living in the southwestern part of the city are adding an extension to their residence. The project aims to increase living space and improve utility, with plans developed by the homeowners.

Gordon Wells Fehrenkamp celebrated his ninth birthday on July 2 with cake sandwiches and soda water.
Mr and Mrs J T Jaeggli and their son James, with Mr William Peterson, left for Kerrville on Wednesday morning for about a week.

Funeral services for Mr. Ernst Pelzel who died Tuesday afternoon July 1 were held from the home with interment in the Moulton Catholic cemetery Rev Joseph Kopp officiating at the home church and grave The funeral was largely attended and the floral offerings were beautiful Pelzel resided in Moulton for years and all business houses closed during the funeral hour The pallbearers were Lucas Rehmet F W Neskorik Jacob Cinadr Henry Wenske John Freytag and F L Filipp Pelzel was 61 years 5 months and 19 days old A native of Dobiswald Austria he came to Texas in 1889 and lived at St John where he married Amalie Sommer in 1890 before moving to Moulton in 1906 Surviving are his wife two children Albert Pelzel of Galveston and Mrs Henry Breitschopf of Komensky and one grandson Emanuel Breitschopf He also leaves one brother Ferdinand and other relatives in Europe
The town of Moulton hosts hundreds of dignitaries for the thirty second annual Catholic Staatsverband of Texas convention. The Eagle promises a warm, memorable welcome to delegates from across the state, noting the rare visit of a state convention to a small town.

The Moulton Ladies Aid and Boursville Ladies Aid hosted an ice cream social at Luther Hall Tuesday night. The Moulton Juvenile orchestra played as ice cream and cake were served. Attendees included several county and local officials such as Aug Janszen Gene Houchins Frank Schoppe Paul Fertsch Joe Bozka Chas Strauss and John Mladenka. Receipts totaled 53.85.

Patrons of the Evergreen School at Henkhaus plan an addition to the schoolhouse and a stage. Last year the school bought a stage curtain costing over $400. Evergreen is noted as a progressive rural school in Lavaca County.
Miss Leonita Kopecky daughter of Dr and Mrs L L Kopecky of Yoakum died Wednesday July 2 after several months illness. Her body was laid to rest in Shiner cemetery Thursday afternoon with many friends and relatives in attendance.
The 32nd annual state convention of the Catholic Staatsverband will be held in Moulton July 15 16 and 17. Some 350 delegates are expected to attend. The parade from the church to the Hermann Park Hall will take place on July 16 at 10 o clock in the morning.
Bridge Club members and guests gathered Thursday afternoon for a four table party hosted by Mrs. Fred F Fehrenkamp. High score went to Mrs E A Jaeggli who presented it to Mrs Hines. Mrs Alf Giesbers drew second. Temple guests Mrs Hines and Mrs Gies bers enjoyed refreshments of jello salad wafers sandwiches and tea.

A family reunion at Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Fehrenkamp’s home honored Mr. Fehrenkamp on his seventy third birthday. All children attended except youngest son Fred who was in San Antonio on American Legion business. Refreshments followed a very pleasant evening.
