Moulton Volunteer Fire Department Meeting At Legion Hall

The Moulton Volunteer Fire Department held its monthly meeting at the American Legion hall Friday night, July 2. Fire Chief W. H. Pundt reported on the State Firemen's convention in Port Arthur. Weldon Knape was accepted for active membership. Emil Helweg C. C. Orts and Emil Grunwald joined the honorary list. A new constitution was approved for printing, with Elo C. Fehrenkamp as chairman and committee members W. H. Pundt and Judge A. J. Dari lek chosen to handle the work. Dues reminders were to be sent to members behind on payments.

Eightieth Birthday for Mr. Fehrenkamp Noted

Eightieth birthday celebrations brought together seventy two people at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Fehrenkamp on a Wednesday evening. They gathered to offer congratulations and best wishes, sharing a bounteous dinner of chicken stew potato salad cake coffee and iced tea. Guests departed wishing Mr. Fehrenkamp many happy returns.

Death of Mrs. William Flachmeier and Texas amendment vote

Mrs. William Flachmeier aged 64 died at her Charlottenburg home from heart failure. Funeral services were held at Charlottenburg Lutheran Church with several ministers. Burial occurred at Pflugerville. An August 23 election will vote on six Texas constitutional amendments including bank stockholder liability, aid to destitute children, a $1 500 000 cap with monthly payments, a shift from salary to fee plans for officials, tax discount for prompt payments, Harris county road and bridge funding, and state aid to a blind adult admitting up to 15 per month.
