Torrential Rains Cause Much Damage in West Texas
West Texas endured heavy rains last Friday and Saturday, flooding low lands and washing away buildings along the Guadalupe, Bandera, and Frio rivers. Nine drownings were reported along Guadalupe and other streams, with extensive property loss and hundreds homeless in Kerrville and surrounding areas. Iota flooding closed roads, washed railroad lines, and disrupted travel from San Antonio to Kerrville as rivers rose and receded.
