Barclay’s amendment passed in part, blocking alcohol use in food production but allowing limited government and sacramental uses. The piece analyzes tax impacts and whiskey in bond, plus Rivers and Harbors measures including Freeport Harbor for war needs. It notes the Susan B. Anthony amendment appears doomed and reports local society notices and a lightning death in Oklahoma.
