A Texas study warns that postwar birth waves will swell public school and higher education enrollments. Projections show 1962 freshman numbers rising about 30 percent from 1952, with total enrollments climbing sharply as more high school graduates attend college.
A group of fourteen women gathered at Mrs. Walter Haas home January 23 to organize a Women’s Home Demonstration Club with Miss Werth County Agent guiding. Officers elected are Mrs. Haas president Mrs. Rothbauer vice president Mrs Kouba secretary treasurer council delegate and Mrs Haase alternate. The next meeting is Feb 27 at 2 pm at Mrs Kouba home. Visitors welcome. Also Yoakum Internal Revenue Office to be open Jan 31 to assist taxpayers with filing period.
PER Willie Walkeree off Wils a business visitor here Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Kurtz and son spent Sunday in Port Lavaca with friends. Joost spent the week-end in Houston with his sister Miss Hertha Joost and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Biehunke and children of Yoakum were in Moulton Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Pil and Mr. and Mrs. James Havdn and son of New Braunfels spent the weekend here with friends and relatives.
