Former Governor T M Campbell returns to Palestine to resume the practice of law. The Bee county courthouse was destroyed by fire Sunday night with losses estimated at 5000 dollars, origin unknown. The rural schools lack professional supervision in most Texas counties seeking legislative action for statewide coverage.
Attendees at the blue rock shooting event at Rocky Creek include Messrs Chas Findeisen Jim Hanzel Henry and August Rogge. Sickness among horses is noted and Dr Schulze of Shiner attends the sick. Visitors Mr and Mrs Frank Stoeltje and Mr and Mrs Hermann Stulken are seen in town. The William Tell Schuetzen Verein plans a masquerade ball on February 11. The Saturday dance drew a good crowd. A. O. Dreyer of Sweetwater and Nolan county relatives visit local residents. The Coldeways' young son is ill. January 17, 1911.
Last Monday night Governor Campbell received a five hall clock from labor organizations in seventy three Texas cities. About five hundred people witnessed the presentation in the house of representatives hall. Representative Cable of St. Joe introduced a bill requiring parental written consent for marriage licenses to minors under 18 and men under 21, noting Washington's law and public approval.

Schu lenburg mayor T H Wolters and Henry S Paulus organize county anti prohibitionists committee.
Sam Sparks, Texas state treasurer, offers a gold watch to the boy under 18 who grows and exhibits the best bushel of corn at the Texas Corn Growers Association convention in Corsicana on January 17. The prize incentivizes boys corn clubs across the state.
Hallettsville Texas on January 14 reports a contract with Hans Hellen superintendent of maintenance and ways for the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway to supply water from city artesian wells for 45 dollars per month the railway will build a reservoir and discontinue Lavaca river pumping.
Fair weather and busy farmers gather in Komensky East. Anton Mueller stays with the Ullmanns, Paul Wenske visits Oak Grove, and many locals travel to events and visits. Teachers attend Moravia institute. dances and birthdays bring crowds. county folks travel through Moulton, Witting, and Baursville.
Editor BacGusz presents a report on Supt William Eilers visit to a school last Thursday. He outlines three pupil types keep-ups catch-ups and give-ups and urges all pupils to stay in the keep-ups and avoid wasteful time. He quantifies time loss and notes social events and local visits.
Oscar Brancob Colquitt was sworn in as governor and A. B. Davidson as lieutenant governor of Texas. Chief Justice Brown administered the oath in the house chamber in front of about five thousand people. The inaugural ball drew an record crowd.
Dr G Schulze sold his 184 acre McKurray place in Shiver to F F Meier for 22080 dollars. The price equates to 120 dollars per acre. Land values in the area remain high and demand outpaces supply.
In his closing address to the legislature Governor Campbell makes several policy recommendations. These include a 2 cent railway fare, separation of Texas A M College from the University of Texas, publishing stockholders names in newspapers, a statewide prohibition amendment, tighter liquor regulation, attorney general backing despite Col Quitt's opposition, majority nominations in primaries, state penitentiary commission creation, and ending leasing of prisoners to private contractors.
