Lavaca county teachers met in Shiner January 7 to elect officers for the year. Supt. T. H. McDonald of Shiner chaired in Boethel’s absence and officials were named for director general, declamation, debate, exter speech, spelling, ready writing, athletics, music memory, picture memory, arithmetic, choral singing, storytelling, rural schools, and a wild flower contest to be appointed. The executive committee meeting decided Shiner would host the meet, with events scheduled February 8–16 and March 16 22 28 for various competitions and tentatively awards to be pursued.
