University lab opens Texas Road Materials Testing Laboratory
The Bureau of Economic Geology at University Station completed installation of a Roads Materials Testing Laboratory equal to any in the United States. Over 350 specimens from central and south Texas are tested free of charge, with prepaid specimens, to assess hardness, toughness, and cementing power for road-building materials.

Tragic death of two year old near Witting
The two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Vince Studlar died Tuesday morning. The body was laid to rest in the Moulton Catholic Cemetery Wednesday morning with Rev KE Schindler conducting the funeral services. The Eagle offers sympathy to the sorrowing parents.
