Hon. George F. Burgess died at his Gonzales home on December 31. He was 56, born in Wharton County, moved to Gonzales County, studied law, and served as country attorney at 21. Elected to Congress in 1900, he served sixteen years. He is survived by his wife, his mother Mrs. Wesson, and many relatives. The Eagle offers sympathy.

J A Jaluska a prominent Moravia business man and respected citizen died at a San Antonio hospital January 5 after a brief illness. He was 63 and survived by his wife twelve children and nineteen grandchildren. The Eagle extends sympathy to the survivors.

Death of Mrs Genovefa Jasek in Novohrad

Mrs Genovefa Jasek, among the oldest residents, died Monday in Novohrad at age 83 and was buried December 24 in Praha cemetery. Funeral services were led by Rev Father Newbert at Moulton Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband Joseph and seven children including J R Jasek Novohrad Roman Jasek Floresville and daughters Josephine Svoboda Yoakán Annie Huebner Shinerwee Mary Godlzelik Ore one daughter Am tis preceded her in death eighteen years ago.

Death of Frank Wincik at family home northwest of town

Frank Wincik died December 26 at his parents home seven miles northwest of town after a lingering illness. Interment followed December 27 in Moulton public cemetery. Born February 20, 1895, he died at age 24 years 16 months and 6 days. He married Whilamina Genzer in June 1916. Survived by his wife, his parents, one child, one brother, and one sister.

Johnson and Gajer Wed in Flatonia Ceremony

Johnson and Miss Gajer were united in marriage at the Methodist parsonage in Flatonia on Sunday December 21. Rev A S J Haygood performed the ceremony. One year old Eddie Freytag son of Mr and Mrs Freytag residing south of town died on December 25 after a brief illness. Funeral services were held the next day at Moulton Catholic cemetery with Rev Neubert officiating. The Eagle extends sympathy to the bereaved parents.

Reverend William Dziewas Dies After Illness

Reverend William Dziewas of Shiner died Monday December 29 after several weeks with pneumonia. His remains were buried in Shiner cemetery the next day with many from Moulton attending. He was 53 and survived by his wife and six children. The Nagle extends sympathy to the survivors.

Shiner Residence Burns in Christmas Fire

The home of Mrs. Laura Muecke in Shiner was completely destroyed by fire on December 26. Estimated loss about $5,000 with $3,500 insured. The blaze is attributed to electric light wiring.
