Oak Grove Christmas Program and Holiday Notes
The Oak Grove program arranged by the assistant teacher and pupils entertained the school and patrons on December 23. After sweets and a Christmas tree, the school closed for holidays until January 4. Frank Banza and Adolf Hauser plus families visited from Weimar. Prof John E Rabel and Joe Raab spent Christmas in Weimar. A cold spell from December 27 brought sleet and 19 degrees, lasting four days, with heavy rain on New Year’s Day and January 2. Frank Heger and Louis Heger, from the Heger family, spent the holidays at home.

Boy Scout Troop 1 Holds Regular Meeting
Troop 1 met Monday night in the Scout Hall to re register the group with about half re registering. Willis Kotzebue joined as a Tenderfoot and took the Scout oath. The old Vallentine home a Yoakum landmark suffered heavy damage by fire in December 81. The two story frame residence once the town’s most pretentious home was left with an estimated loss of $2000, covered by insurance. Cause of the fire is undetermined.
