Dogs Prestige At a New High During Wartime Morale
A Gaines Dog Research Center report cites dogs' rising prestige after 30 months of war. Dogs serve in many armed services roles and bolster home morale, with 15 million dogs in American homes. A survey finds 42 percent value dogs more now, 58 percent would share rations, and only 0.6 percent would discard dogs. British wartime morale and canine policies are noted. Visitors include Mr. Ad. Petrek and family and Pfc. Erwin Siems on furlough.
