In Nacogdoches Texas on a Sunday morning W T Wilson a brakeman from Jacksonville was injured when his right foot was crushed under a box car wheel. The injury necessitated amputation just below the ankle.
Brownsville Texas reports 19 year old prisoner Dufino Rodriguez ended his life Monday afternoon by shooting himself in the heart while in County Jail. He was detained on robbery charges involving gloves and received treatment as a threat.

In Lampasas Texas a young son of William Hatto was bitten twice on the hand by a rattlesnake while near Lake Victor. A physician attended him and reports say he is doing as well as could be expected. Two Hutto boys disturbed armadillos in a hole and were bitten as well. They dug out two large rattlesnakes, one six feet long with twenty one rattles and another with seventeen rattles.
One of the county’s largest timber sales closed in Liberty County to Kirby Lumber Company by C M Wotan and W D Myers of Beaumont. The tract south of Cleveland covers 14 256 acres and fetched 158 000 dollars. Purchasers will immediately lay a tram to haul timber to Fuqua.
Liberty Texas sheriff reports a fatal fight near Cleveland involving John Chism and Tom Sorrell. Sorrell died, Chism escaped. A $50 reward is offered for Chism’s arrest by Sheriff Cherry.
