Dr F W Ledbetter a Yoakum dentist died from a pistol wound last Saturday near noon in what police termed a self defense incident. He was buried Monday in Hallettsville with Rev J J Kellam officiating and Olinthus Ellis delivering the funeral oration. Ledbetter, a Lavaca county native born in Hallettsville many years ago, leaves a wife and five children. the community extends condolences.
Tom E. Shandera, assessor and collector of taxes for the Moulton Independent School District, has collected over $5,000 thus far. Those who have not yet paid their tax should do so at once.
