Ambulance delays in Weimar to Austin transfer noted
Service from page 1 reports the transfer of Jason Watsons three month old son to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin due to serious condition. The Austin Ambulance Co from Weimar reached the scene at 3 45 a m, about 1 15 after the explosion, encountering gas issues and credit shortages at service stations en route. The route bypassed Smithville and Bastrop, with another gas stop in Lockhart. County Judge Murray was informed of the malfunctions as an investigation is to be conducted.

The St Joseph’s Altar Society met at St Joseph’s Hall on Monday Feb 12 with 21 members. President Mrs Darwin Vasek led. Mrs Adolf Migl led the opening prayer and gave the financial report. The noodle soup dinner is set for Feb 25 at St Joseph’s Hall.

Legion Auxiliary Holds February Meeting
The American Legion Auxiliary met on Wednesday night Feb 7 with 26 members present. Minutes from December and January were read and approved. The treasurer reported finances and members thanked for cards from Elvira Schneider Lexie Boehm Thomas Petrek Timothy Petrek Robbie Hoyer Mrs Jake Tousek Jr. and Willie Williams. A transfer of funds from general to child welfare was approved and money redirected from Girls State to support the entire Junior group. Luncheon duties listed March through May and all ladies asked to bring sweets for March birthday dinner. Mrs. Albert Brem won the Kitty. Meeting ended with a prayer for peace.
