Joe Meyer dies at Legion Hospital at 40. Weeks of services precede burial in Moulton with St. Joseph's Church rites. American Legion posts honor guard, firing squad, taps, and flag presentation to widow. Survived by wife Eugene, son, parents, seven brothers, and one sister in Moulton.
The Moulton High School Bobkatz defeated Yoakum High School 87 to an unspecified score at Herman Park Hall Tuesday night. The Bobkatz seek public support and encouragement as they rebound from a rough start this season.
Warning that no one may cut off water on male lines of the Moulton Water System without authorization. Violators will be prosecuted by the authorities. Statement issued by the Moulton Water Board.
The Moulton Branch of Lavaca County American Red Cross reports a large flood relief contribution and urges local residents to donate. The national drive seeks ten million dollars with Lavaca County quota set at five hundred dollars as thousands are left homeless.
The Moulton Parent-Teacher Association will hold a meeting in the school auditorium Friday afternoon February 5. The program includes a fifth grade performance with piano solo by Ethel Josephine Wagner a discussion on Friendliness and Home and School Responsibility led by Mrs. J B Wilson and a trumpet solo by Ed Biehunko Jr.
James H. Strauss of Hallettsville Lavaca county cotton station reports that 8604 bales were ginned in Lavaca county from the 1986 crop prior to January 16 1987 versus 14059 bales by January 16 1986 for the 1935 crop.
The item notes improving condition of Mary Louise Niebuhr who has been very ill. Frank Rothbauer of Moulton is a patient at Shiner Hospital since last Thursday. August Wenske of Moulton is very ill from reports last week. Mrs. Wm Breitachopf is ill at Shiver hospital.

The farmers program sponsored by the Moulton Business Men's League, set for Wednesday night February 3 at the Moulton School Auditorium, has been postponed until further notice due to inclement weather and bad roads.
The Moulton Bobkatz earned their second win of the week by trouncing Waelder 82 to 18 at Waelder. Other notes include R. Preston leaving for Beeville and several local residents visiting kin or traveling through Cuero Victoria and Goliad over the weekend.

The Moulton Voluntary Fire Department held its regular monthly meeting Monday night. Vice President Vladik Boehm presided due to illness of President O. F. Knape. Treasurer Willie Miculka received thanks for his service since the department’s organization. The meeting ended with benediction by Rev. A. H. Falkenberg.
A Texas survey shows the state led in men’s work clothing production through 1936 with 142 clothing factories operating. Texas factories supply much of local markets for women’s wear, according to Clara H. Lewis of the University of Texas Bureau of Business Research.
More than 6,000 communities joined birthday balls honoring President Roosevelt on January 30. Proceeds support the fight against infantile paralysis nationwide. The president spoke to diverse groups via a national hook-up at 10 30 Saturday night. Roosevelt was 55 years old.

The Moulton Waterworks Company stockholders met at the American Legion Hall on Thursday morning January 28 with Vladik Boehm presiding. Secretary Victor O Fehrenkamp read and the minutes were approved. Officers reported yearly results and planned further improvements. old directors Vladik Boehm Sr, O A Darilek, Victor O Fehrenkamp, Edwin Jaeggli and O F Knape were reelected.
Walter E. Discher aged 29 of Shiner died at 12 30 p m Wednesday in a Houston hospital. The body was sent to Shiner for burial with Rev Schuetze officiating. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs Paul Discher one sister Miss Anita Discher two brothers Arno E Discher and Erwin R Discher of Houston. Funeral attended by Mr and Mrs W H Shodde and daughter Wilma of Moulton.
Yoakum Jan 28 C C Olds 50 railway express agent died of pneumonia at his home Wednesday. Funeral by Rev Glenn Murray. Burial Oak Grove Cemetery. Survived by father and a brother of Houston two children Carol May and Billi and wife who is seriously ill with pneumonia.
William H. Kerr 89 of Flatonia died Friday. He conducted business in the town in earlier years. Survived by wife, two sons Harry and Randolph of Houston, daughter Mrs Sallie Morley of Flatonia, several grandchildren and other relatives.
