Seadrift and Moulton Girls Clash Saturday Night

The undefeated Seadrift High School girls face the unbeaten Moulton High School girls at Hermann Park Hall Saturday night starting at 7 30 o clock. Admission is 15 and 25 cents. The Seadrift boys and Moulton Bobkatz also compete in the same program. Public urged to attend for strong basketball.

South Texas Fair Racing Dates Set for 1935

South Texas circuit fair dates for 1935 were awarded at a meeting here. Boerne opens August 30 to September 2, followed by Fredericksburg September 6 to 8, Flatonia September 9 to 14, New Braunfels September 12 to 22, LaGrange September 23 to 26, Victoria September 25 to 28, Kingsville October 7 to 27, Wharton October 8 to 12, Yorktown October 16 to 18, Gonzales October 21 to 26, and Seguin November 4 to 14. Horse races are held at Victoria, Rosenberg, Kingsville and Seguin tracks.

Bridge Club Hosts Afternoon Games and Prizes

Mrs. Arnold Freytag hosted the Tuesday afternoon bridge session on January 23 with two tables. Mrs. John Cinadr won high score and Mrs. Gus Fisbeck had the low score after six games. Guests included Mesdames Jarosek Cinadr Etlinger Fisbeck Meyer Kotzebue and Misses Grunwald Anders with refreshments of potato salad tuna sandwiches pecan cake prune kolaches and coffee.

Firms in Heart Of Town Damaged by Fire Yoakum

Fire of undetermined origin in Yoakum Texas caused an estimated 40 000 in damage to central city firms. Firemen from Shiner Hallettsville aided the local department with Cuero called for help but not needed as flames were controlled. Piggly Wiggly Beal Pietch & Boyson and Home Town Bakery nearly destroyed. Bass Brothers Store and Mile Saber Hotel briefly threatened. Fire Chief Herbert Spies said 12 lines of hose were used. Last year total damage was 300.

Kaiser 79 Died at Yoakum After Illness

C F Kaiser prominent Yoakum resident died Saturday after several weeks of illness. Funeral from his home Sunday with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Survived by widow Elsie Kaiser daughter Ida Thiele and sons Louis and Charles Kaiser of Yoakum and 15 grandchildren. Aged 79 years 2 months 29 days born Oct 21 1855.
