Rural Power-Line Carrier Telephone System Tested Near Jonesboro
First public tests of a rural power-line carrier telephone system began this week near Jonesboro Arkansas. The system uses the same wires to carry telephone calls and electric power simultaneously. E Harigel manager of Southwestern Bell says it could extend telephone service to thousands of additional farms.
