A PTA sponsored Christmas program occurred Wednesday night in the gymnasium featuring the Rhythm Band a one act play and several musical numbers. An exhibit showcased homemaking Christmas gifts candies cookies and gift wrapping samples. The audience joined in Christmas carols.
Mr and Mrs Willie Hoepfl Jr welcomed a 7 lb 4 oz girl at Shiner hospital on Saturday December 19 The baby named Marguerite Carolyn is the Hoepfls third daughter.
Mr and Mrs Albert Kalisek announce the birth of a daughter Doris Jean born Sunday December 20 at Shiner hospital. The baby weighs 7 pounds 4 ounces and has two brothers and one sister. Edgar Freytag and Bernadette visited relatives in Yoakum while Agnes Kubena and V J Steinacher spent the weekend there.
Gerald Donohue of Goliad owns 12 of Texas 100 purebred Arabians. The segment on Humble Oil Texas in Review notes the horse’s dished face and long-distance load-carrying ability, tied to Moorish Spain. The program airs Monday at 9 30 p m on KPRC TV Houston.
Hallettsville Sevent new directors will be named by the Chamber of Commerce in January. The election will have 21 members on the ballot with seven to be elected. President Sam Devall noted no director may succeed himself. The annual banquet is set for January 28 with details to be announced. Mrs. Hattie John of Yoakum and her son Samuel of College Station visited here.
A string of brief social visits is recorded as Mr. Walter Doell of Cuero stopped by Emil Beran’s home Tuesday. Families including the Hoyer, Malinek, Harris, Schodde, Fehrenkamp, Breit schopf, Heger, Zapalac, Pundt, Pundt Jr, Pilsner, Bevan, Haas, Biehunko, Meyer, and Pavlas are noted for weekend or holiday visits across Cuero, Gonzales, Schulenburg, Shiner, Weimar, Frio and Houston areas.
Eddie Novak thanks Dr. Frank M. Wagner Dr. Robert Wagner and the Wag ner Hospital staff for their kind care during his illness. He notes the assistance and lasting appreciation for their acts of kindness.
