A Warsaw Kentucky Independent editorial laments local citizens who neglect town affairs. It argues that those who do nothing for the community, dodge public projects, or avoid advertising are harming civic life and metaphorically digging the town’s grave.
The Cuero brass band forms with Edgar Davidson as director. Davidson is a seasoned musician and the Eagle wishes him success. The Donna News lists Dan W. Huffor on its masthead, a top Valley newspaper man with many friends wishing him continued success.
At the Dallas convention the Texas State Teachers Association urged lawmakers to declare cigarettes and paper unlawful by enacting a statute prohibiting sale. The Eagle hopes the next legislature will pass strict anti cigarette laws and enforce them rigorously.
The Eagle will revise its subscription list on January 1 1922 and strike names of readers overdue more than thirty days. The paper notes it cannot visit regularly unless fed and warn that missing copies after January 1 will have a reason given.
An advertisement for Triner's Wall Calendar 1922 touts a Walt Whitman inspired design with a central Progress image and nine vignette pictures of pioneers from Copernicus to X rays. It invites readers to mail 10 cents to Joseph Triner Company in Chicago and promotes Tunner's Bitter Wine as a stomach tonic for holiday cheer.
An advertisement invites readers to obtain 3 percent money to remodel, build a new home, or develop vacant lots and to pay off 8 or 10 percent mortgages. It offers opportunities for live agents and provides an address at Room 2, Flick Ridge, Cuero, Texas.
An advertisement touts Rub My Tism as an antiseptic and pain killer for injected sores tetter sprain neuralgia rheumatism claiming quick relief and broad medical uses.
