At Girard Kansas a standoff continues as Mrs Ina Berny, arriving from Spokane, remains in her private car under guard. A Wichita special train and posse tried to dislodge her. no fire has occurred since sidetracking. She stays at the window and signals for weapons while provisioning for two to three days.
Thirty leading seed dealers urge President to condemn free seed distribution in a petition to Congress. They contend the practice harms farmers and benefits weeds by supplying seeds at no cost, and ask inclusion of a disapproval paragraph in the president's message.
New Orleans banker W P Brown estimates this year’s cotton crop at 10 175 000 bales and predicts prices will reach 15 cents. Rev J B Trice of the Baptist Orphanage says Dr I Warsaw arranged on behalf of Temple Sinai Sunday School to provide a Christmas tree and presents for the orphanage children. Fifty two youngsters will be specially remembered as the Jewish synagogue children join the effort.
