One man was killed and three fatally injured when the Mogul boiler exploded on the Chicago and Alton No 86 locomotive eleven miles east of Mexico Missouri. The blast threw the boiler 200 yards and nine cars were ditched as the train traveled at thirty five miles an hour with all men aboard the locomotive.
