American Legion Picnic at Herman Park Draws Crowd
Geier-Merrem Post No 892 held its annual picnic at Herman Park on Sunday with a fair crowd. County Judge Paul H. Fertech spoke on proposed constitutional amendments introduced by O F Kurpe. The American Legion Band played and John Havlik's orchestra provided music for dances and games, 403 tickets sold.

Cotton Sales Records Needed To Get Subsidy
Austin Texas August 24 J E Mcdonald commissioner of agriculture urged farmers to retain written records of all 1937 cotton sales. Written statements of sales are needed to obtain the federal subsidy equal to the difference between price received and 12 cents per pound. He urged keeping duplicate or triplicate copies and noted growers must agree to future crop control legislation to receive subsidies.

Eighty nine ballots were cast in Moulton for a constitutional amendment election held Monday August 23.
