Mrs. Petronila Welfel 69 of Shiner dies August 9 1977 in a Shiner nursing home Funeral services were at 2 p m August 11 at Sts Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church Shiner Interment in SPJST Cemetery Shiner Rosary recited August 10 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel Shiner Surviving six sons two daughters two step brothers 23 grandchildren two great grandchildren Also notes membership drive and committees for local organization with names of officers and volunteers.

LUBBOCK Texas grain sorghum producers may see higher target prices for 1977 and 1978 if the president signs the new farm bill. The target price climbs from 2.89 to 4.02 per cwt for 1977 and to 4.20 for 1978, with sorghum loans at 95 percent of corn.

At the August meeting the Lutheran Ladies Aid discussed the October 15 Fall Bazaar. Jerlene Kunkel and Hertha Scott were welcomed. the group approved $10 monthly summer watering for church lawns. Hertha Scott donated a traveling sprinkler. August hostesses were Leona Gertner and Helene Mueller. September hostesses are Sophie Siems and Lilly Trojacek.

Elsa Mueller Rites Held August 11
Funeral services for Elsa Mueller 64 of Nordheim were conducted at Lamprentz Funeral Home Yorktown with the Rev Jeffrey Thompson officiating. Interment followed in Nordheim Cemetery. She died August 8 in a Yorktown hospital. Born June 18 1913 in Shiner she married Alfred Mueller June 23 1931. She is survived by husband Leroy Mueller daughter Mrs Philip Fritz parents Fritz Harbers brother Edgar Harbers sister Mrs Harry Sachtleben and three grandchildren.
