Most Americans Face Retirement With Nothing But Social Security
Brandeis economist James Schulz warns only about one third of near retirement workers have adequate pensions. He notes many rely on Social Security, with private pensions often leaving retirees short of 65 to 75 percent of pre retirement income. He advises checking benefits, boosting savings, diversifying investments, selling appreciated items, and using IRAs if no pension coverage.
