Graduation Exercises At Baursville School

On Tuesday night April 20 a large audience witnessed graduation exercises at the Baursville school. The graduates were Elizabeth Marie Dietschke and Allyne Ida Wagner. Prof. Chas W. MacDonald and County Supt. Frank Schoppe delivered addresses and presented the diplomas. The play Here Comes Charlie followed the ceremonies with strong applause for cast members including Mary Belle Davis Ruth Dooley Cara Schoenfeld Allyne Wagner Elizabeth Dietschke Anton Schoenfeld Erwin Haas Joe Schoenfeld Roy Vogt and Jody Haas. The Komensky Entertainers performed between acts with Rudolf Darilek on piano accordion Viola Faltisek and Dolores Ducho singing.

County Board Meets May 8 in Hallettsville Courthouse

The county board of trustees will meet at the courthouse in Hallettsville Tuesday May 8 to classify the county public schools. J B Wilson of Bellville Democratic nominee for state senator from the 15th district visited Moulton last week Wednesday to meet voters, accompanied by H Paulus of Yoakum.

Press Association Holds Convention in San Antonio

The seventh annual Southwest Texas Press Association convened at the St. Anthony Hotel with sessions Friday and Saturday. H. D. Meister opened the meeting, and officers were elected including George H. Atkins as president. Former Gov. Will H. Mayes urged centennial efforts as Congressman Kleberg addressed the banquet. Various local figures were noted visiting or attending events and anniversaries.

Pundt opened his new meat market last Monday in the old Farmers and Merchants State Bank building recently vacated by Central Power and Light. The shop features up to date fixtures and a spotless presentation. Several area residents and visitors stopped by to tour the market.

President Signs Bankhead Bill to Limit Cotton Crop

President Roosevelt signed the Bankhead compulsory cotton control bill to place the cotton industry on a sound financial basis and limit sales from the 1934 crop to 10 million bales. Macon Flies Across Texas En Route to Florida

The dirigible Macon of the United States navy crossed Texas on Saturday en route from California to Florida for fleet maneuvers. It departed El Paso at 10 45 am, covering 900 miles in about 12 hours with a crew of 19 officers and 80 men aboard.
