Victoria Attorney Slugged and Robbed

James W. Ragadale a Victoria attorney was beaten and robbed in his office Monday afternoon after drawing 500 dollars from a bank. He was found on the floor and rushed to a hospital in critical condition with an ambulance on scene.

Lightning Sets Hay on Fire Near Heger Farm

A Tuesday afternoon thunder shower struck a hay stack at the Joe Heger farm about five miles south of town. Several stacks were destroyed before the Moulton Volunteer Fire Department arrived with its booster truck and prevented further spread.

John Mang Sr Pioneer Resident Buried Thursday

John Mang Sr died Wednesday April 18 at age 81 years 4 months 23 days. Funeral at home by Rev. E Jacobs and burial in Moulton Public Cemetery under Moulton Lodge No 298 A F and A M. Pallbearers listed. surviving eight children, 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. Born Saxony Germany 1856 arrived Texas 1871, lived in Flatonia Lavaca Gonzales and Moulton. Wife Louise Persky died 1985.

Komensky Volley Ball Team Wins Lavaca County Championship

The Komensky School volley ball team defeated Yoakum Shiner and Hallettsville to win the Lavaca County Championship on March 25. Players include Irene Vasek captain Eugenia Pavlicek Beat rice Vogt Sophia Kubena Marcella Bohuslav Judith Buzek and Irene Kubenka.

Local Boy Recruited for CCC Camp Help

Lavaca County All Stars Win District Title

The Lavaca County All Star team from Evergreen Moulton Oak Grove Breslau South Mustang and Sweet Home captured the district title at the interscholastic league meet in LaGrange. They defeated Gonzales County 12–2, Austin County 5–3, and Caldwell County 6–3. Coaches were Charles Strauss and Marvin Merrem. Dorothy Fehrenkamp took third in Declamation. John Gebauer finished second in Mile Run.

Rabid Dog Killed In Town Last Week

A dog killed in town last week tested positive for rabies after its head was sent to Austin for examination. The incident involved Frank Bohuslav of Komensky, and residents with yard dogs are advised to monitor them closely for a period.
