Mrs Frank Bohuslav Dies at Komensky Age 63

Mrs. Frank Bohuslav died at her Komensky home after a several month illness on Saturday afternoon April 9. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. from the residence with Rev. Father Neubert and Rev. Father Netardus officiating. Interment was in Prabha cemetery. She is survived by her husband and nine children: Frank Bohuslav, Bobu mir Bohuslav, William Bohuslav, Adolph Bohuslav of Komensky, Mrs. Frank Mikulik of New Orleans, Mrs. John Mikulik of Moulton, and Annie Bohuslav of Komensky.

Mra C C Roeder visited Shi ner relatives Tuesday afternoon. Miss Tillie Franke of Thrall is visiting at the Victor O Febren kamp home. Mr and Mrs William Schmidt and Mr and Mrs Roy Dagg of Yoakum were in the city Monday evening visiting Mr and Mrs Adolph Baur.

The Jonah presented by local talent at the opera house

The Jonah a three act comedy drama directed by Prof C C Roeder drew full houses and loud applause Tuesday evening. Local performers many named gave strong turns with Miss Bertha Papacek Miss Vlasta Shander a Miranda and Emil Papacek among the noted participants. A quartet and piano interludes accompanied the show and the Eagle encourages more local plays to follow. Proceeds benefited the Moulton School Club and Baseball Club.

Miss Ella Meyer of Swiss Alp visited her sister Mrs. O BK Knape on Sunday. Mrs. D. A. Rode of Rosenberg came Monday to visit Rev. and Mrs. HK Hanne Mann. Miss Adele Kreuger, visiting her sister Mrs Victor QC Fehrenkamp, returned to Shiner Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Baur and Mrs. Roy Dagg left for Alleyton to visit Mr. and Mrs. Herman Thar. Miss Grace Preston returned from Walfurrias where she visited her sister Mrs. D.C. Holmes. Victor O Fehrenkamp left for Houston Monday for the Lexus Lumbersmen Association annual convention. Safety Deposit Boxes are being stored in our vault under construction with an electrical burglar alarm system. A birthday party for Mary Michalec was held Sunday night at Mr. and Mrs. John Michalec’s home with dancing and amusement. Mrs. Albina Rosenauer of Hallettsville and Miss Annie Novosad of Moulton visited The Eagle office Tuesday and spoke of storm damage to buildings and crops.

Rainy spring forces farmers to replant in Victoria

In Victoria area reports note heavy rain requiring replanting by several farmers. Mrs Ed Nitschmann is recovering well from illness. Nearby visits include Jo hn Raab and family, Frank Raab and family, and Miss Emma Bennisch at Louis Raab’s home. Augusta Raab spent time with Emma and Theresa Bennisch. Jordan Raab traveled to Moulton to see relatives. Clarence Sparks hosted a large birthday dinner with his wife after the event on April 9, 1921. Sunshine.

Galliger A High School Comedy in Three Acts

A three act comedy titled Galliger performs at the Opera House on April 19 at 8 30 p m as a school club benefit. The event promotes school activities with a light humorous program.

Culak School Trustees Re-elected After Rain Delays

After a week of heavy rain and cold slowing work, Culak school sees Gus Huff and Joe Culak reelected as trustees. Classes paused two weeks due to illness but resumed Monday. Decorated graves marked Decoration Day with sermons by Rev. Rector and Rev. Woltsdorf. A Sunday visit by local youths to Emma and Rosie Reindl’s home followed.

Drowns At Home: One Year Old Child Dies In Yard Accident

The one year old child of Mr and Mrs A Hauslik of Ihlworth neighborhood drowned after falling into a tub of water while playing in the yard on April 3. The remains were buried in Shiner cemetery as the bagle sends condolences to the sorrowing parents.

A Lavaca County Red Cross child welfare conference was held in Halljtsville. Children from across the county were examined under supervision of Miss Betty from the home economics division of the state board of health.

Lutheran delegates head to Seguin Synod session

Rev KE Hannemann pastor of Moulton and Baursville Lutheran churches along with delegates William Hillmer and Otto Urban left for Seguin Monday to attend the Lutheran Synod 10 session. They will be away a week. Before leaving Hannemann asked The Eagle to invite all Lutherans of Moulton and vicinity to the missionary festival in Seguin Sunday as synodival Sunday.

Good Times Ahead Folk Dance and Local Events

A series of events scheduled in April includes a married folk dance at Hermann Park Hall on Saturday April 16 with the Frank Rother Orchestra of Hallettsville. A baseball benefit dance at the Opera House on Monday April 15 features the Cornelion Jazzy Six from Schulenburg. A high school play Galliger is set for Tuesday April 1g at the Opera House to benefit the Sam and Will Moore Institute. A tacky dance is planned at Hermann Park Hall on Saturday April 30 with music by the Billimek Orchestra.

Storm Rips Through Local Farms Causing Replanting

A severe storm last Thursday afternoon swept a rural belt between Ponton’s Creek near Shiner and Witting, bringing rain hail and cyclonic wind. The damage destroyed crops across about twenty five miles with hailstones as large as eggs. Many farmers must replant corn and cotton.

Lion Killed Near Yoakum Spark Second Sightings

N P Hagen, a farmer near Yoakum Texas, reports killing a lion on his ranch by Kelly Creek in Yavaca County and sending the hide to San Antonio for rug making. Three more lions were sighted in the same area afterward but not captured, according to Hagen.
