Lavaca County farmers age 65 plus may start Social Security payments April 1 1956 after filing with Luke Wade representative of the SSA. They must show gross 800 or more for 1956 and report farm profits from calf sales excluding off farm labor. Wade will visit April 12 at 1 30 pm in the County Court Room Hallettsville. County Extension Office offers help with benefits. In 4-H news 237 members in 12 clubs learned dairy judging with Extension Visual Aids slides. Three boys won dairy heifers in Houston Dairy Scramble Joe Kouba Jr Shiner Paul Hinch Yoakum Harvey Goedrich Hallettsville. Four boys showed livestock at Houston Fat Stock Show earning ribbons. Fifteen boys began Tractor Maintenance and will enter the Tractor Drivers Contest April 7. Twenty-two boys joined the 4-H Rifle Contest March 24 with district rifle team selection April 14 in San Marcos.
