LaGrange Residence Destroyed by Fire

A residence in LaGrange, recently bought by Mrs F J Guenther and occupied by Mr F Schneider, burned Thursday after 6 p m. The origin is unknown. Many hospital mattresses and items were ruined while a $1500 medical apparatus owned by Dr F Guenther was saved. Firefighters fought with limited water pressure. Later that evening another fire at John P Ehlinger’s residence was quickly extinguished.

School Trustee Election Saturday in Moulton ISD

Four trustees seek re election in the Moulton Independent School District. Incumbents J T Jaeggli F J Wagner Ed Boehm and Ad Vana vie for new terms. Polls open 8 am to 6 pm at the First State Bank building with voting in other districts as well.

August Krause, living several miles south of town, observed his 72nd birthday recently. Family members joining him included Mr. Frank Meyer and family, Mrs. Ludwig Janssen and children, Mrs. Alma Haase and children, and Mrs. Alfred Ten berg.

Shiner and Moulton to clash in Monday baseball game

The Shiner and Moulton base ball teams are matched for a game here on Monday April 18. This will be Moulton's first game of the season. Moulton has had a strong ball team for years and hopes are high for the best squad yet. Come out and support the team.

Annual Easter Picnic at Hermann Park

The Hermann Park Verein hosts its annual Easter picnic on Monday April 18 starting 1 PM. An egg hunt at 2 30 PM followed by a 3 30 PM baseball game and music by the American Legion Band all afternoon, closing with a grand ball featuring Schultz orchestra.

F. J. Meyer, brother of Mrs. O. F. Knape, who had been ill in Flatonia hospital for six weeks, is rapidly regaining his health and returned to his home near Flatonia in the early part of last week.

Auto School Attracts Large Attendance In Moulton

A free auto school conducted by W A Bergfeld of the Moulton Motor Company opened last Tuesday evening with a large crowd and strong interest. The session invites all interested to attend next Tuesday at 8 o clock.
