88 year old Everett Rose keeps cycling around Morris
Everett Rose of Morris, age 88, rides a custom two extra wheel bicycle from his home at 503 E. Jackson St. to Kiersted Ave and the paper mill three to four times daily. Once unable to walk after a fall, he rebuilt mobility with cycling and has kept the habit for six weeks. Neighbors photograph his red 21 inch West Point bike, bought at Matteson’s Hardware and modified at Sereno’s Blacksmith.

Morris Country Club to Build New Concrete Clubhouse
Morris Country Club plans a new concrete clubhouse for the next golf season after a January fire. About 80 percent of 75 members supported the project at a Monday meeting. Bids for the Goose Lake Prairie State Park entrance road and parking area near Morris were opened last week. D. Koerner Inc. of Coal City submitted the low bid at 177500 while Charles O'Brien of Morris bid 182475 and James McElwain bid 185000. Final award requires Illinois Department of Conservation approval.
