British businessman Scanlon escapes Ugandan prison

Fire injures teens in Elgin senior building blaze
Four teen residents were treated at hospitals after a ninth floor fire at an 11 story senior citizens apartment building in Elgin Illinois. Most victims suffered smoke inhalation with one minor burns and one possible heart attack. All but three were released after treatment at Sherman and St Joseph hospitals.
Two 15-Year-Olds Arrested for Dwight Burglary
Dwight youths aged 15 were arrested by Det. James Enger and Police Chief Richard Irvin for a Sunday burglary at 200 W. Wauponsee Street Dwight. One juvenile remains in Livingston County Jail for a prior reckless driving case while the other was released to parents. Items stolen included liquor a radio a wristwatch a TV remote and knives. Entry was via a basement window with no further damage reported.

Fatal stabbing in Crest Hill leaves man dead
Dan Lee Parnell aged 30 from Joliet was fatally stabbed while visiting his sister in Crest Hill. Delane Terrell, 20, Joliet, was arrested and charged with murder. Parnell died at St Joseph Hospital, Joliet, before midnight.
