Minooka Grade School Board adopted a 1,700,400 budget funded by a 1,481,635 tax levy and other sources. The levy breaks down into education 1,000,000 building 285,000 transportation 76,000 working cash 60,000 retirement 20,000 liability 28,000 special ed 25,000 and bond interest 95,635. Bus sales include a 1968 International 66 passenger sold to First Baptist Channahon for 2,500 and a 36 passenger bus to Larkin Baptist Joliet for 1,055. A 54 by 54 foot cement garage floor bid from Polaria Concrete was approved. A teacher in service half day workshop on the new reading series was approved for Oct 6. Several staff activities and conference attendances were approved along with a bread slicer donation to the cafeteria.

Pellet damages window at Ellen Street residence
A pellet gun damaged a window at the Mike Cornale home on Ellen Street in South Wilmington. Deputies reported a two inch hole and found the pellet on the floor after the damage was reported Thursday morning. Mrs. Cornale heard activity outside Wednesday night but could not identify suspects.
